Life With LaMoin

"A merry heart doeth good like a medicine." Proverbs 17:22

Thank you for visiting my website.  I would like to take this opportunity to share some of my goals for creating this site.

My husband, Bill, and I have been missionaries for many years and have had many experiences - some good and some bad.  Most of the time I have tried to see the humor in things that happen to me.  There are many things in this life that stresses us and makes us sad and unhappy, but God said that "a merry heart doeth good like a medicine."  Medical science has proven that laughter is therapeutic. Through many years and many experiences, with God's constant help, I have finally learned to obey I Thess. 5:18, "In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you."  Regardless of events, if it is God's will for me, I will accept it, because I don't want to miss one minute of God's will for my life.  One of my goals is to make you forget your problems for a few minutes as you read about my experiences and maybe to bring a smile to you.

I will be posting a newsletter each month as well as writing on my blog.  I invite you to walk with me through parts of my life.  I hope I can give you an insight into the life of a missionary.  I would like to entertain you as I also teach you some things about missionary life.  I hope you will laugh with me and sometimes cry with me.  I would love for you to pray for me.  But most of all, I hope you will be blessed as you share my journey.

I have published a book about my missionary life in Ethiopia entitled, "Oh, Lord, What Have I Gotten Myself Into?"  Ever ask yourself that question?  I have authored another book, "I'm So Glad I Didn't Know,"  about our ministry in Australia.  Of course, I would love for you to buy them :) and you can order them by going to My Store on this site.  Both books are light reading, with humor, about my experiences.  I hope that you will appreciate that I am very transparent and never pretentious.  I am what I am (which isn't much) by the grace of God.

My husband and I are now doing mission work in Bali, Indonesia.  We cannot obtain a residence visa for Bali so we are forced to travel there periodically from our home base in Tennessee.  When I am in the States, I will be happy to accept speaking engagements for ladies retreats and meetings.  I am also trained and certified by Florence Littauer for teaching The Personalities.  I strongly believe that if we have a thorough understanding of our God given personalities that we can better relate to our family members, friends, church members and co-workers.

I welcome any correspondence through my e-mail address.
